Yodayo AI Review: Anime Art First, Companion Second

The Short Answer on Yodayo

A character you can render beautifully isn't the same as a character who's still there for you tomorrow. That gap is the whole question with Yodayo, and it's the one most reviews never get around to asking.

Here's my verdict: Yodayo suits anime-character browsing and image tinkering. Calling it a girlfriend experience is harder, because we could not confirm its memory depth, its voice features or its NSFW rules. A relationship needs continuity, not just a gallery.

If you want the short version, GoLove.ai is where I'd start. Chat, in-chat photo requests, voice calls (PRO) and Series episodes all revolve around one character you keep coming back to.

> Verdict: Yodayo for anime art; GoLove.ai for a companion who stays the same person across chat, photos and episodes. The proof is small but telling. Ask her for a photo mid-conversation and it arrives in about 20–45 seconds for 1 Star, with the same face as her avatar and earlier photos.

Explore is the quickest way to test that against your own taste. The chat opens the moment you tap a character, so you'll know whether she holds together before you've committed to anything.

Key points · GoLove.ai

  • Entry price: PRO about $19.99/month
  • Stated free daily allowance: 2 free Stars a day
  • Anime focus: 300+ anime girlfriends in their own category

Short answer: If you enjoy anime-character browsing and image tinkering more than ongoing conversation, stay on Yodayo; that's a real preference, not a lesser one.

What Yodayo Is Built Around

Every platform has a center of gravity, and Yodayo's sits with anime-style characters and image creation. Chat is one part of a larger platform rather than the room everything else opens onto. That ordering matters more than it sounds. A sketchbook rewards you for making something new on every visit; a girlfriend experience rewards you for returning to someone who already knows you. One platform can attempt both, but its priorities tell you which of the two it was designed to protect.

The Open Questions: NSFW, Memory, Voice, Price

At the time of writing, we could not confirm:

  • NSFW rules: what is currently allowed, and on which accounts
  • Memory: how far back a character's recall reaches
  • Voice: whether there is a voice you can actually hear
  • Pricing: current plans and what each one includes

Check Yodayo's own site before you commit, because details like these change.

Continuity: The Test That Matters Here

So what would a fair test look like? I'd argue it comes down to four signals: chat that remembers; media requested inside the conversation rather than made in a separate generator; a voice; and a reason to come back tomorrow.

> Art can be admired once and put away; a relationship has to be returned to, and it has to be there when you do.

A GoLove.ai Session, From Explore to the Blurred Second Photo

Picture the first few seconds. You scroll Explore, a grid of faces, and tap the one that catches you. The chat opens straight from Explore, with no setup screen in between. Her first photo is already visible in the thread, while the next one sits blurred behind a lock with a "Sign Up" button, next to a quick reply that reads "Send me spicy photos."

Mobile Explore past the fold — pure character grid

If you're coming from Yodayo, one detail is worth noting: more than 300 anime girlfriends sit in their own Explore category, so you don't have to leave behind the art style you already like.

What strikes me about this flow is the order of things. The first exchange happens before any commitment; you meet her, see how she writes, and only then decide whether she's worth an account. Honestly, that's closer to how people actually meet than most apps manage. The blurred photo is a sales mechanism, of course (there's no point pretending otherwise), but it still asks you to decide after a first impression rather than before one.

Characters you can open right now

Tap any of them and the chat starts there

Asking for a Photo Mid-Chat

The mechanism is simple. Tap the media button, choose Send Photo and describe the scene in your own words, and a photo of that same character arrives in about 20–45 seconds for 1 Star. Her face and body stay consistent with the avatar and with the photos she sent before. That consistency is the quiet part that matters, because a companion whose face drifts between pictures stops feeling like one person.

Turning That Photo Into a Short Clip

Under the photo, a one-tap "Generate Video" turns the same scene into a roughly 5-second clip in about a minute, for 10 Stars. Here's what got me about the distinction. Media made in a separate generator is something you produce, whereas media requested inside the conversation is something she sends you. The pixels may be similar. The meaning isn't, because the second kind stays in the thread as part of the history you share.

Chat Settings: Voice, Lust Level, Reply Length

Chat Settings hold three controls:

  • a voice picker
  • a five-level lust slider, from 1 (sweet and wholesome) to 5 (unfiltered and intense)
  • a five-level response-length slider, from 1 (short and snappy) to 5 (rich and immersive)

Voice calls sit behind the phone icon in every chat, and voice messages and calls are PRO features. A voice looks small on a spec sheet; in a relationship, it's often the thing you remember.

Series and the Feed: A Reason to Come Back Tomorrow

Here the girlfriend question becomes a question about time rather than features. GoLove's Series are vertical 18+ short dramas starring its own characters, and as of 2026-10-12 there were 5 series and 32 episodes, with new episodes every week, per GoLove. Each episode is a 60–100-second vertical video with subtitles in nine languages. Titles like "The Only Mortal in Heaven" and "My AI Girlfriend" feel like the short-drama apps, except that you can message the cast afterwards.

Episodes 1 and 2 of every series are free to watch. From episode 3 on, you need PRO plus a few Stars per episode. Under the player you'll find:

  • Follow Series, so the next episode finds you
  • Start Chatting with the cast, which opens a character's profile and chat
  • Create Video and Create Image of the cast

Multi Scene — chain several moments into one generated video

The Feed adds a lighter loop of vertical clips, each with a Remix button that opens the generator preloaded with that clip's settings. Behind it, the video generator runs 147 video modes across four categories: 76 realistic, 20 anime, 35 trans and 16 anime-trans. Multi-Scene is one of its modes.

Checklist box

What GoLove.ai gives you:

  • Live voice calls and voice messages
  • She remembers your chat history
  • Photos on request in the chat
  • Image generator with 35 realistic poses and 21 outfits
  • 2 reward stars every day you log in

Which makes you wonder what a story actually does for a companion. Scheherazade kept a king listening for a thousand and one nights on the promise of the next instalment, and serialized fiction has leaned on that idea ever since. I'd argue a story gives her a past you share, and a shared past is what you come back to.

Fair enough: on the first two rows, CrushOn.AI comes out ahead. It's cheaper to enter, and its stated free allowance is more generous. our full CrushOn.AI review covers it in depth. For the wider field, see our breakdown of which AI companion apps actually deliver.

But if your deciding question is whether one character can carry chat, photos, a voice and a storyline, GoLove fills every row.

What GoLove.ai Costs, Dated and Hedged

Paying for a companion sounds strange until you separate what you're actually paying for. All amounts below are approximate and vary by region and promo.

  • Free: 2 daily reward Stars, a limited daily Feed and episodes 1–2 of every Series.
  • PRO: about $19.99/month, or $119.88/year (roughly $9.99/month). Includes all NSFW content, character creation, voice messages and calls, unlimited Feed, image generation and 100 Stars a month.
  • ULTRA: about $59.99/month or $359.88/year. Adds more monthly Stars, a Star-refill discount, stronger models, 8,000-message memory and priority creation.
  • Star packs: from about $9.99 (30 Stars) to $299.99 (3,000 Stars). A Star buys one image, and 5 Stars buy one video.

New users also see a limited-time −70% offer on their first subscription.

My read is that a subscription here buys continuity: the voice, the memory, the episodes. Stars pay per picture. Those are different purchases, and it helps to know which one you're making before you make it.

The Pick, and Who Should Stay on Yodayo

If you enjoy anime-character browsing and image tinkering more than ongoing conversation, stay on Yodayo; that's a real preference, not a lesser one. And if price decides it for you, CrushOn.AI is the cheaper entry.

For the girlfriend-experience question, though, GoLove.ai is my pick. The same character chats with you, sends the photos you ask for, takes voice calls on PRO and stars in Series episodes, so there's always a thread to pick back up. It isn't for everyone. Free use runs on daily Stars rather than an unlimited allowance, and male characters aren't available yet. If you'd like another character-platform comparison, read our Botify AI review.
