Intimate AI Review: What Actually Works in 2026
A voice note is a letter; a voice call is a conversation. I didn't think much about that difference until I'd spent some time with Intimate's AI girlfriends. Now I'd argue it decides whether an app like this feels intimate at all. Scorecard first, reasoning after.

| Getting started | Easy | Easy: chat opens straight from Explore |
| Free tier | Gated | Gated; 2 free stars a day |
| Price per month | App-store subscription; varies by region | About $19.99, or ~$9.99 on annual |
Prices checked 2026-09; promos vary.
GoLove.ai is my pick. It has live voice, and you can ask for photos inside the chat, so the same character stays with you whether you're typing, talking or looking at a picture. Intimate is pleasant enough, but it mostly lives in text, and text only carries a relationship so far.
If you're still just browsing, try the roster before you read any further. Opening a chat from Explore costs nothing and takes no setup, and the characters there show off the table's best row better than I can describe it.
What we found
- Character roster: Good: curated personas
- Chat realism: Good early; patterns surface later
- Memory across days: Present, lighter over time
Short answer: Going back over the scorecard, the pattern is hard to miss.
The Character Roster
Intimate – AI Girlfriend is built around characters. You browse a set of personas, each with a look and a short personality premise, then pick one and start talking. If you've tried other apps in this space you'll recognise the model; it works fine here.
Checklist box
What good looks like, in one checklist:
- Real-time voice calls with per-character voices
- Memory across chats — she remembers your details
- In-chat image generation — 35 poses and 21 outfits
- 2 reward stars every day you log in
How Real the Chat Feels
I've learned not to trust the first evening. Every companion app looks good on night one. Everything is new, she asks about you, you answer, and the novelty makes up for a lot. Intimate's early replies are fluent and well paced. The real test comes later, once you notice that the openers are all warm in the same way and the replies keep falling into the same structure. By then you're reading a pattern more than talking to a person.
> Does Intimate feel like one person or a template? > At first, one person. Over longer stretches the template starts to show through. That doesn't disqualify it, but you should go in expecting it.
Where Intimate Earns Its Score
- Onboarding is quick. You're talking within a minute.
- Tone holds steady inside a single conversation.
- It rewards people who are happy to type and don't want much else.
Memory on Intimate vs GoLove.ai: Who Remembers You Tomorrow
I'd argue memory is the least glamorous feature in this category and the one that matters most. Nobody screenshots it, but everybody notices when it's missing.
> Day one: both apps know only what you told them tonight. > A few days in: Intimate still has the basics, but the finer details thin out. On GoLove.ai the history carries forward, and so do the settings you chose for that character.
What Intimate Keeps Between Sessions
Credit where it's due: Intimate does have memory. The basic facts come back reliably. The texture is less dependable, like the offhand thing you mentioned on Tuesday, which is often the part that made the conversation feel like yours.
GoLove.ai's Memory and Chat Settings
GoLove.ai remembers your history with each character, and its Chat Settings let you fix the voice, a 5-level lust slider and a 5-level response-length slider. Here's what got me: the personality you tuned is still there when you come back. That sounds minor until you've used an app where it isn't.

Why Continuity Is the Whole Point
Every relationship you've started sits in one inbox, one tap away. If you want to see how other apps handle this, our ranking of AI companion apps by memory, voice and media compares them. It makes you wonder: what would a companion even be if she didn't remember you?
Intimate's Voice Notes
Intimate's voice notes are async audio. She records something, and you play it back whenever you like. They're good for mood and for an unhurried, letter-like rhythm; in a quiet way, they're charming.

GoLove.ai's Live Calls
GoLove.ai has voice messages too, but it also has live voice calls in real time. It's the same character with the same memory, and she answers while you're still in the moment.

What Presence Actually Feels Like
Sherry Turkle wrote, roughly, that we turn to technology when we feel vulnerable. If she's right, then what we need from it is responsiveness rather than polish. A note can be tender, but it arrives after the feeling has already passed; a call happens inside the feeling. Loneliness responds to that difference more than to anything else (at least, mine does).
In fairness, here's how Intimate comes out:
- Pros: it's easy to pick up, and voice notes suit a text-first life.
- Cons: voice comes as notes rather than a conversation, and chat patterns show up over time.
- Verdict: it's pleasant, but it stops one step short of being present.
This is the row that decides the review, so test it yourself instead of taking my word for it. Pick a character from Explore, start a call and hear her answer in real time. No note, however tender, can give you that.
Photos and Video: The Row Intimate Leaves Blank
Intimate is built around chat and voice notes. From what the app shows, its effort doesn't go into generating photos or video, though you should check the current listing before you assume otherwise. On GoLove.ai, media is simply part of the conversation.
In-Chat Photo Requests
You can ask the character you're talking to for a photo, and it arrives in the same thread. You don't have to switch to a separate tool or find her again somewhere else. That's a small thing, and it matters more than it sounds.
Photo-to-Video and Video Actions
- Photo-to-video turns an image from the chat into a clip, right there in the chat.
- Video Actions open a Select Action menu. There are 76 realistic video modes, plus anime and trans sets.
- Remix starts from any clip you like, preloaded with the exact settings that made it.
Multi Scene and the Feed
Multi Scene builds one clip out of several moments, and it works with any GoLove character or one you created yourself.

The Feed is a TikTok-style vertical stream with Explore and Liked tabs, and any clip opens that character's chat, so you don't lose the thread. What I like is the loop: a clip leads back to a conversation, and the conversation can lead to another clip.
What Intimate's Subscription Unlocks
Intimate sells its subscription through the App Store and Google Play. The store shows the amount, which changes by region and promo, so I won't quote a figure I can't verify. Check the listing on your own device before you tap anything.
What GoLove.ai's Plans Include
- Monthly: GoLove PRO costs about $19.99/month, and as little as about $12.99 in some regions.
- Annual: about $119.88/year, which works out to roughly $9.99/month. It's the cheapest per month.
- Stars: the in-app currency for generating media. Packs run from about $9.99 up.
> About $9.99/month: GoLove PRO billed annually (~$119.88/year), checked 2026-09.

Cost per Feature, Not per Month
Monthly prices on their own mislead people. The better question is what the money actually buys: chat, memory, live calls, and a generator hub one tab away. Measured that way, the gap narrows quickly, and it can even flip.

GoLove.ai's Free Tier: Where the Paywall Sits
GoLove.ai has limits too, and they're worth noting before you commit any money.
Without paying, you can open a chat straight from Explore and get a real sense of a character. The paywall comes in at voice and at heavier media generation, which is where Stars and PRO start to matter. You get 2 free Stars a day; they don't go far. The Feed also gives free users only a limited number of new videos per day, and its filters are PRO-only.

Prices move as well. What you see depends on your region, on whether you pay through an app store or the web, and on whichever promo happens to be running. Intimate's free tier is gated in similar ways, so neither app is fully free. That's fine, as long as you know where the walls are.
Before you subscribe to either app:
- Price: check it on your own device, in your own region.
- Billing route: app store or web. They can differ.
- Renewal: note the date, and see whether the promo price carries over.
Intimate vs GoLove.ai, Re-Read Row by Row
Going back over the scorecard, the pattern is hard to miss.
On roster and basic chat, Intimate matches GoLove.ai or comes close. The first conversation is decent on both, and fair enough, that's what most reviews measure. But GoLove.ai wins the rows that decide whether a companion lasts: live calls instead of notes, memory that holds over several days, and photos and video inside the chat. Value evens out once you count features instead of dollars.
> Verdict > Intimate suits text-first users who are happy with async voice notes and don't need media. > GoLove.ai suits anyone who wants a companion who answers in real time, remembers them and can send photos and video.
The table and this verdict agree; GoLove.ai is the pick. For more on the voice side, see how live AI girlfriend voice calls work and what they sound like.
